I grew up in Baia Mare, a city in the North West of Transilvania, Romania, and I was educated at ‘Gheorghe Sincai’ College where I took my baccalaureate in 1995. From there I went to Cluj university to study Philosophy and Anthropology. I took my BA in 1999 from ‘Babes-Bolyai’ University and ‘Avram Iancu’ University with a dissertation on Plotinus’ criticism of Aristotle’s doctrine of actuality and potentiality and my MA in 2000 from ‘Babes-Bolyai’ University with a dissertation on the Anonymous Commentary to Plato’s Parmenides. From there I went on to read for a PhD in Ancient Philosophy at Royal Holloway College, University of London.
